VitreJect® and VitreJect®-DL(X) Ophthalmic Safety Needles are FDA-cleared ophthalmic needle. Indicated for intravitreal and intracameral injections.

  • Low endotoxin (< 0.2 EU / device, measured on every production lot).
  • Low EO/ECH residuals (suitable for intravitreal use).
  • Chemical characterization (E&L), Toxicological Risk Assessment and Biological Risk Assessment (suitable for intravitreal use (i.e. ocular, intraocular and intravitreal testing in animals).
  • Biocompatibility testing for intravitreal use (i.e. ocular, intraocular and intravitreal testing in animals).
  • Low particulate matter (USP<788> and USP<789> passed).

   Additional information:

  • Low silicone content in VitreJect® Needles: about 70% less silicone in 33G VitreJect Needle and 60% less silicone in 31G VitreJect Needle than in standard 30G x 1/2” needles.
  • VitreJect® Needle enables a single-step, safe injection procedure and does not require additional instruments or consumables.
  • Integrated 3.5mm – 4mm caliper ensures precise and consistent injection site localization, no additional marker needed.
  • Protective shield keeps the needle covered at all time increasing injection safety. It prevents contact contamination with eyelids and eyelashes, and protects against air-borne pathogens. No eyelid speculum is needed which enhances patient’s comfort and compliance.
  • Sliding shield ensures consistent depth and orientation of needle penetration.
  • Twist-locking needle cap reduces the risk of accidental needle sticks.
